The three sisters were born on the same day to Ygriane, the duchess of Cornwall, or so she was told. The dark-haired, dark eyed Morgan (later to be known as La Fey) who followed the path of the dark; the blonde, blue-eyed Morgause, neither light nor dark but neutral, and lazy; the red-headed, green-eyed Vivian, always good and virtuous.
