Booktalk:
It just wasn’t fair! It was a curse from centuries ago, put upon one of Emma’s ancestors; a curse that affected all of the female descendants of the Green Witch. Any female descendant who touched a flower on or after their sixteenth birthday would lose all their youth, beauty, and kindness.
Emma’s grandmother and her favorite aunt had fallen under the spell, and there was only a week left before Emma’s 16th birthday. She was determined to find the cause of the curse and how to reverse it. Otherwise, how could she marry Eadric, whom she loved and with whom she had shared so many experiences?
Then, she found that she would have to travel to the past to find the answer if there was one, and do so without changing anything material. Being the Green Witch, she didn’t see a problem with that. But then, she hadn’t anticipated Eadric and Li’l (her favorite bat) accompanying her.
