Booktalk:
Arthur’s imagination, and Alfred, his dog, were Arthur’s main entertainment from an overactive imagination. His Grandfather had disappeared several years ago, and since his parents were out of town trying to find another job for his father, Arthur was left with his grandmother. Without her husband and his income, however, she was about to lose ownership of her house due to nonpayment of taxes. Mr. Davido was more than ready to take over the house and tear up the place to build apartments.
Then, grandma told Arthur about the treasure hidden in the garden and the miniature Minimoy tribe that dwelt there. Arthur decided that HE would have to contact the Minimoys and find the treasure before Davido got his hands on the house and land. Otherwise, the entire land, including the Minimoy tribe AND the treasure would be bulldozed and destroyed.
