It started one day at my bridge. The one where I go to get out of the rain and relax. Rain from the kids at school talking about me as if I wasn't there. About my weight. About my FATNESS. The bridge where I can ride the river of cars, the Swoo-oosh. Marking the cars, Jaguar, Peugeot, Micra, Wrangler and on and on. But this day something different happens.
This day there is Road Rage. One car starts to shove another off the road, then the 2 cards bump and skid to a halt about 20 yards from the bridge and the drivers get out and confront each other yelling. One (BMW guy) shoves the other (Range Rover guy) and RR whacks BMW in the head. The BMW guy jumps at RR guy and grabs him with both arms. Then BMW jerks back with his hands to his belly . . . but RR NEVER TOUCHED HIM. RR's looking all puzzled and BMW is clutching his belly and screaming like a pig and 3 guys are getting out of the BMW, caveman guy on drugs, half-bald guy, and . . . a guy dressed just like BMW guy. Half-Baldy and Twin BMW guy are struggling in between the cars and I can't make out what's happening and then Caveman runs and joins in the fight. Then BMW guy is on his feet WITHOUT his Nike cap and slamming RR guy against the car. Then Caveman comes back and starts helping BMW guy. Then, Half-Baldy joins in and it’s confusing because they're all on the ground and I can't tell what's going on, and BMW twin is nowhere to be found.
Suddenly, in less than 5 minutes, the cops are there. And, there's something on the ground. And, I should leave, but one of the cops sees me first and walks up to the top of the bridge where's I'm sitting and asks me if I saw it happen. And that they'll be by our house later to take a statement.
Turns out that the thing on the ground is a body. Turns out RR guy is a bad dude who is being framed for killing BMW guy. But, its really BMW twin that was killed. Turns out the cops want me to lie about what I saw and threaten to put my dad in jail for welfare fraud unless I lie at the trial. And RR guy will put me 6 feet under unless I tell the truth.
