Booktalk:
This story is about Danielle, Brooke and Tiffany. Three rude, self-centered, beauty-conscious, rich girls that rule their territory.
And I do mean rude and unrepentantly selfish. As an example - Danielle pushes her way to the front of the bus line, takes the last available seat, even though it’s reserved for handicapped people, and watches as a blind woman, a mother with triplets, and two ancient old men shuffle onboard.
Danielle goes to visit Mrs. Witt in a convalescent home (not that she wants to, she has to do it for credit to graduate). Mrs. Witt can hear and think and see, but she can barely move or talk, ‘cause she had a stroke. Danielle goes in the room, shuts the door, grabs the remote, changes the channel from news to MTV, leans over Mrs. Witt, comments on how awful old people look, sits down, props her feet on the bed, takes Mrs. Witt’s candy and helps herself. When Brooke comes in the room, they both scarf down the candy.
Danielle learns from Brooke that a beautiful exchange student, named Helga arrived at the High School, and has every male in school drooling. Danielle, Brooke, and Tiffany decide to teach her a lesson, like they did with poor Charity Chase--who jumped off a cliff.
Unfortunately for Danielle and company, the world gets its revenge with a fate totally worse than death.
